Snow Falling on Sand Dunes

This is what I saw as I was walking across campus to my office yesterday: a snow drift. In April. In Arizona!

Keep in mind, our temps are in the mid-80s right now and it's sunny every day. I have no idea how the snow got there or, then, how it lasted so long!

Some phenomena are better left unexplored.

  1. I thought Arizona was safe from snow! How often does it snow there?

I've been in Austin 3 winters and it very lightly snowed once. It was gone by morning, but the city freaked out (me included). It snows about once every 5 years.

  2. Well, it is obvious. It is a miracle of God. (I only know that's the answer b/c I called the 700 Club.)
