I checked this out, and the book is "The Body" by Jenny Boully. It looks quite interesting, and it's totally new to me. See this review in "Jacket": http://jacketmagazine.com/19/gre2.html
But even the few excerpts in this review show that Boully is working more purposefully with the concept of footnotes than I am. I've got to get a copy of this book, however, for my collection of books on footnotes.
Huth's idea reminds me of that book of footnotes by Jenny Bailly (sp?).

Then I'd have three.
Thanks for the notice.
